How You Can Help
Many people think that the only way they can help is to adopt a pet. Yet many want to help, but already have loving animals to care for. There are many ways that someone can help save these babies besides adopting, such as volunteering to transport, opening your home and heart to foster, helping at adoption days, walking the puppies, doing a food drive and donations in any form are always excepted.
Foster
If you are interested in fostering, please contact us and we will discuss with you in further detail what fostering an animals is all about. Your life will never be the same after you have fostered a rescued baby.
Adopt
We want every animal to find a loving home. Check out Angels on Wheels' available pets for kittens and puppies currently being fostered or housed at petco. If you are looking for a specific color, size, breed, anything -- contact us and we will find you your new best friend. Every time you adopt you save two lives: The baby you just brought home and the one you made room for in a shelter.
Volunteer For Adoption Days
We need volunteers to help us with Adoption Days. Adoption Days are Held on Saturdays from 11:30 - 3:30. If you are interested, please contact us.
Volunteer Your Kids, Girl Scout Troops, or Boy Scout Troops. We always need blankets. A great project for your Girl Scout Troop, Boy Scout Troop or kids at home would be to make blankets for our babies by tying the ends of blanket material together, add sum stuffing and now we have a pet bed. Another great Community Service Project is putting together a food drive for our rescue. With prior approval from Petco, you can do a food drive at their facility by selling food to be donated to Angels on Wheels. If you think you can help or would like more information, please contact us.
Volunteer to Transport
Transporting these animals is a huge part of rescue, and help is always needed with transportation. Once animals are rescued, they need to be picked up from the designated area and driven directly to Crest Hill Cat and dog Clinic off Weber and Caton Farm Road. After the initial exam and once the animals have settled in, many will need to be brought back to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic again for spaying and neutering. If you can help with transport in any way, please contact us.
Donate
Any kind of donation helps: Cash, food, KMR milk replacement, kitten bottles, newspaper, plastic bags, bowls, blankets, crates, cat carriers, kitty litter, toys, bedding, and so much more. With your cash donation, you will receive a picture of a baby you saved. We would be happy to pick up any items you would like to donate. E-mail us your name, address and item(s) you are donation. You can leave it by your front door and we will pick it up. Donations are always being excepted on our behalf at Petco in Bolingbrook
1249 West Boughton Road
Bolingbrook, IL 60440, (630) 226-9858. Please help us to help them.
We are just a few people with big hearts rescuing and saving animals. We normally rescue the very young and sick, but from time to time, we do rescue adults. Every time we see a pet go to a good home, we get excited because we know they are going to live out their life to the fullest, smothered with love. We have a lot of fun doing what we do and love to see the happy faces when the fur-babies find new families, although it is also sad because we see so many being put down that we couldn't save because of lack of space or funds. With your support, we can save more of these animals on death row. Please help us to help them. Volunteers are ALWAYS needed.
